As far as New Year’s Eve stories rate, ours (mom and dad) is listed at the bottom of the pile. I lost a filling the day before and needed to see my dentist in Seattle. My husband, the good sport that he is agreed to drive me to my appointment. His conditions to accompany me were strict. We must leave immediately so he did not have to drive in rush hour traffic early the next morning. Consequently, Echo (my husband) hovered so close I could hear his watch tic; nudging me to get my clothes packed and out the door in mere minutes. We left all behind, including Colby who stayed home to play basketball (another story). Nothing like leaving home knowing: 1. you left something of great importance behind and 2."there’s gonna be a big party in the Old House tonight.”
It turns out the only dentist in a 200-mile radius who has not pissed me off (or vice versa); did not piss me off again. Gosh, I like him; I paid him a lot of money and smiled doing it. Amazing. The rest of the day went like this:

Should we go out to eat? Nah. Should we go see a movie? What's playing? Brad Pitt? Nah, I hate him. Jim Carey? If you hate Brad Pitt, I hate Jim Carey. Animated? I am not spending that much money to watch animated. Ok, let's rent a movie and eat movie popcorn. Nah, I dunno. We started our new year by watching “The Mummy” on TV and dog sitting Audrey and AmyJo's dogs for the night. Just wait till you hear about the rest of the family's new years eve celebrations. My oh my.
Question: If the dentist doesn't notice that you are in pain, do you grab his thigh, his calf, or swat his hand?
Audrey socked a dentist's belly once (age 8) and got our whole family blackballed. We learned that socking a dentist is not an appropriate way to get attention. To bad cause Echo liked him.
Wonderful Wonderful
