Neverending Basketball

Saturday, wonderful Saturday... according to Colby. Son League (organized basketball teams through Young Life) played their first games. Colby has been without an official basketball game for two weeks, so he has bugged everyone within the area under the age of 35 to play basketball.

The list starts with Sage who begs him to play catch. It is baseball season after all. However you look out the window and their is Sage with his "buddy" in his arms (Buddy, being the name given to the baseball bag) sadly watching Uncle Colby make baskets over by the hoop. We move on to his old friend Josh who came over to play ball after being hounded for two hours (yes I kept track) about coming over here. Well, Josh came over expecting to play ball...but basketball? Colby must have meant baseball, he loves baseball. Surprise!
The list goes on...Atarah, Audrey and Stephanie (his cousin) have all joined in to make the down time less painful. Oh did I mention he attended Open Gym at least three times a week. That is when the place is open for anyone of any age to play unofficiated basketball games. It gets rough.
Saturday finally arrives; Colby's new team named the "Bulldogs” play a double every Saturday morning. First game 7 points and the second 11 points. He leaves tired but happy, but we return home to hear him say,” Soon as I'm done helping you, I'm going to shoot some hoops". He went out repeatedly as if he had never played that day. The pictures are from last night when Stephanie took pity and shot some hoops with him... just as she did the day before. Steph, you’re awesome.
